At Cornerstone, we all work together to make a positive difference to people’s lives. We are one of Scotland’s largest charities with over 35 years’ experience providing care and support for adults and children with various support needs throughout the country. We are incredibly proud to have an amazing team of dedicated people who share our Values and continually strive to enable the people we support to live happy, independent lives.

We have an exciting opportunity for caring, motivated Relief Support Workers to join our Jigsaw service in Helensburgh. This is a non-contracted position and so applicants should be aware there will be no set hours of working.

Our Jigsaw service provides support to children and young adults with disabilities and other support needs. We provide a care at home service for young adults to help them to live independently within their communities and to achieve their goals. In addition to this, Jigsaw run a Saturday Club where children and young people can take part in fun activities such as playing music, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, games and much more! We also have a Youth Club, which runs on Wednesday and Friday evenings, and a school holiday programme with various activities and events throughout the Summer. Through this range of engaging and fun activities, Jigsaw provides a safe and happy environment for children and young people, supporting them to achieve their goals and ultimately live a full and valued life.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient and understanding of people’s varied needs. You’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to overcome challenges with positivity, commitment and enthusiasm. You will enjoy working with people and be able to develop relationships built on trust, respect and consideration.

We provide flexible, customer-led services that run twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, so you should be prepared to work evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rota basis.

By joining us, you will have a rewarding career in social care, gaining a wealth of experience and access to a vast range of learning and development opportunities through our award-winning Training Academy. You will be challenged, engaged and supported to reach your maximum potential and help us achieve our goal of becoming the first choice for care and support in Scotland.

Cornerstone has an ambitious aim to revolutionise social care by introducing self-organising teams. This model focuses on empowering colleagues in local communities to work in the best interests of the people we support. We are the first social care organisation in Scotland to adopt this way of working and you can be part of this exciting journey.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Cornerstone Chat on Monday 19 November.
