Is 2019 going to be your best year ever? Look no further!

We are on the lookout for caring, dynamic Support Workers to join our team throughout Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire. We have a range of full and part time contracts available.

At Cornerstone, we all work together to make a positive difference to people’s lives. We are one of Scotland’s largest charities with over 35 years’ experience providing care and support for adults and children with various support needs throughout the country. Our aim is to make a real difference to the people we support by enabling them to enjoy a valued life – the life they choose.

As a Support Worker, you will provide personalised, flexible support based upon the assessed needs of each individual. With a focus on promoting and encouraging independence, you will enable the people we support to live as independently as possible and to play an active role within their local communities. You will be positive and proactive in identifying new opportunities for participation and inclusion, provide quality personal care and participate in household tasks as required.

Our service runs twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; therefore, you will need to be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, waking nights and public holidays as part of your rota.

You will be reliable, friendly and self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills. Any prior experience would be welcome but is not essential. It is important that you share our organisation’s Values, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support.

As an organisation, we care more about you sharing and demonstrating our values. You will have the opportunity to access a wide range of courses and qualifications through our award-winning Training Academy. You must, however, be willing to undertake an SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) if you do not already hold one.

Cornerstone has an ambitious aim to revolutionise social care by introducing self-organising teams. This model focuses on empowering colleagues in local communities to work in the best interests of the people we support. We are the first social care organisation in Scotland to adopt this way of working and you can be part of this exciting journey.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare.

A career with Cornerstone is more than a job. Apply today and begin your journey with us.
