Cornerstone is one of Scotland's largest charities with over 35 years? experience providing care and support for adults and children with various support needs all over Scotland. Our aim is to make a real difference to the people we support by enabling them to enjoy a valued life.

We are currently looking for caring, motivated and patient Support Workers to join our team on a part time or full time permanent basis with various contracts available (20-39 hours).

Angus Court is a busy housing support and care at home service with many activities and social events including bowling, discos and going out socialising. We support six tenants with individual needs with some more complex than others. The successful applicant will be required to have experience and lone work with individuals regularly.

You will need to be reliable, able to use your own initiative as well as be able to follow guidelines, work well in a team and be open to change. You will work and agree, monitor and review tenantÂ’s personal plans and outcomes (goals) in line with Cornerstones aim, vision and values.

As a Support Worker, you will deliver invaluable assistance by providing personalised and flexible support based on the assessed needs of each person, helping them grow in confidence and meet their goals. You will have the ability to empower the people we support and encourage independence at all times, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work sensitively and maintain confidentiality at all times. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to work days, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays as these are essential to our services.

For our Support Worker role, you will need an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards this.

Working in our service can be a challenging but rewarding experience so if you have a good sense of humor, a positive outlook and a forward thinking approach, we would love to hear from you.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

In April 2017, Cornerstone entered a transformational stage to begin our new Strategic Plan, Local Cornerstone. Over 3 years, we look to revolutionize social care delivery by introducing self-organised teams; not only improving the quality of the support we deliver but benefiting colleagues with greater autonomy and more professional development opportunities. We strive to change the way the health and social care sector is viewed in society and want our colleagues to be truly valued for the highly-skilled, life-changing work that they do every day.
