An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of an innovative service which is at the forefront of Scottish Social Care Policy.

Cornerstone SDS (Self-Directed Support) is an impartial advisory service, created to provide families and those requiring support with all the information needed to choose the best possible care for them.

We are now on the lookout for a positive, person centered individual to join our team in Inverurie as a part-time Resource Mapping Community Research Coordinator until March 2021 on a fixed term basis. Hours can be worked flexibly during office times with the opportunity to work from home.

As a Coordinator your main role will be resourcing information through a referral system from internal and external sources. The gathered resources of community based supports, services and activities would be stored on an in house data base that will be shared locally with local authority stake holders.

You work alongside the SDS Aberdeenshire service and maintaining a high profile and reputation of the resource work carried out and sharing this knowledge with SDS advisors to ensure community knowledge and connections are maintained and have the capacity to grow.

Alongside this we are looking at naturally supporting groups being supported in their infancy to allow individuals to share their experiences and find support from each other therefore skills of bringing people together in a group setting would be advantageous.

The post holder will cover Aberdeenshire and will work from our Inverurie office. There may be a lot of travel involved, attending forums, events and other community based activities so a driver with own car is essential

The successful candidate should be computer literate, including the ability to use databases. Good organisational and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate in varied styles and the ability to work sensitively and maintain confidentiality. An in-depth induction and period of shadowing will be given to the successful candidate.

Interviews will be held on Friday 8th February 2019.
