Are you looking for a role which can make a difference, interested in helping people reach their potential?

At Cornerstone, we all work together to make a positive difference to people's lives. We are one of Scotland's largest charities with over 35 years' experience providing care and support for adults and children with various support needs throughout the country. We are incredibly proud to have an amazing team of dedicated people who share our Values and continually strive to enable the people we support to live happy, independent lives.

We have an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to join our housing support services in West Dunbartonshire on a relief basis.

By joining our team you’ll provide invaluable support to individuals with different support needs. You'll take a personalised and flexible approach based on the assessed needs of each individual, and will help them grow in confidence and meet their goals.

With a focus on encouraging and maintaining independence, and reducing social isolation, you’ll be supporting the day to day personal needs of individuals, including meal planning, cooking, housework, personal hygiene and medication. You'll also be enthusiastic and creative when supporting individuals with their interests and hobbies. With your help, we will enable the individuals we support to remain in their own homes and tenancies and play an active role within their local communities.

This is an engaging and diverse role, suited for enthusiastic, creative and motivated individuals. Experience within a caring or supportive role is not essential; if you align yourself with Cornerstone's Values - Caring, Customer-focused, Pioneering and Professional - then we want to hear from you.

The successful candidates will have effective communication skills, the ability to use their initiative and build effective working relationships with a ‘Can Do’ attitude. You will ideally have your SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards this.

If you're successful in joining our team, we may need you to work days, evenings, weekends, sleepovers lone working and public holidays as these are essential to our services.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme

At Cornerstone, we're not just passionate about delivering great care and support, we celebrate it, we are dedicated to it and we thrive on it. Our aim is to make a real difference to the people we support by enabling them to enjoy a valued life - the life they choose. Already imagining yourself as part of our team? Apply now and begin your journey with us. You'll never look back.

In return for your hard work, commitment and positive approach, you'll not only receive a huge amount of job satisfaction, we'll invest in you by providing on-going training and development opportunities, a competitive salary and access to Cornerstone Perks (our exclusive employee discount scheme).

In April 2017, Cornerstone entered a transformational stage as we began our new Strategic Plan, Local Cornerstone. Over 3 years, we look to revolutionise social care delivery by introducing self-organised teams; not only improving the quality of the support we deliver but benefiting colleagues with greater autonomy and more professional development opportunities. We strive to change the way the health and social care sector is viewed in society and want our colleagues to be truly valued for the highly-skilled, life-changing work that they do every day.
