Are you a forward thinking, innovative, approachable leader with experience in supporting individuals with various additional support needs? Yes? You could be just who we’re looking for!

Cornerstone is one of Scotland's largest charities with over 35 years' experience providing care and support for adults and children with various support needs all over Scotland. Our aim is to make a real difference to the people we support by enabling them to enjoy a valued life - the life they choose.

We have a very exciting 12 month fixed term full-time Team Leader opportunity (36.25 hours) in our North Lanarkshire Community Support Team.

Our Community Support team provide support for children and adults with a wide range of additional support needs. By focusing on reducing social isolation, maintaining independence and respite for their families and carers, you will enable the individuals we support to remain in their own homes, and have an active role within their local communities.

As Team Leader, you will coach, mentor and support the development of your staff team and be committed to developing positive relationships with the people we support, their family and carers and other stakeholders. As the individuals we support live across the North Lanarkshire area, it's essential that you have a full UK driving license and have access to a car (mileage allowance will be given between calls).

Providing support to our Service Manager, you will undertake prospective carer assessments and present new carers to the approval panel. In addition, you will attend meetings and reviews as required, be involved in developing and improving our service, prepare personal plans, develop rotas for support and submit reports to the approval panel.

Essential skills:-

* SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7 (SVQ Level 3) or equivalent to meet SSSC registration requirements
* A proven track record of delivering high quality, person-centred support.
* Ability to demonstrate the communication, organisational and interpersonal skills that will lead and inspire staff to deliver excellence in all aspects of their work.
* Proven record of building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, their families, carers and other stakeholders.
* Significant experience in a caring or supportive role.
* Commitment to complete a PDA in Management, which is a requirement for the role.
* Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable skills:-

* Experience in managing support arrangements.

We provide a flexible, customer-led service that runs twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, so you should be prepared to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers on a rotational basis. You will also take part in formal on-call duties.

Sound interesting? Then we'd love to hear from you.

In April 2017, Cornerstone entered a transformational stage as we began our new Strategic Plan, Local Cornerstone. Over 3 years, we look to revolutionise social care delivery by introducing self-organised teams; not only improving the quality of the support we deliver but benefiting colleagues with greater autonomy and more professional development opportunities. We strive to change the way the health and social care sector is viewed in society and want our colleagues to be truly valued for the highly-skilled, life-changing work that they do every day.
