We are looking for several male* Support Workers to join our busy Community Support service in Airdrie. We have several part-time positions available for between 16 and 25 hours per week.

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with a variety of complex health and support needs, including autism, dementia, lifelong health conditions, mental health and addictions. You will provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, preparing meals, shopping, light household tasks and managing finances. You will assist with all medical needs, including medication and attending appointments, and help the people we support take part in activities and events in the community.

We are looking for people with a passion to build relationships and positively change the lives of the people we support. So, whilst previous experience would be highly beneficial, it's not essential. WhatÂ’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values to make a difference. You'll receive all the training and support you need to provide the highest standard of care through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete your fully funded SVQ qualification.

As travel will be required throughout North Lanarkshire, it is essential that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

To be a great Support Worker, you will be:
- compassionate, understanding and patient
- able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with lots of different types of people
- adaptable and responsive in times of crisis or need
- an excellent communicator
- a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality

Our dedicated team provides person-centred support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. If you join our team, you should be flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as a part of your rota.

A career with Cornerstone is more than just a job. You'll make a real difference every day, be part of a great team and learn lots of vital new skills. There's never been a more meaningful time to join the Health and Social Care sector. The support we deliver has an incredible impact on the lives of people living with disabilities and additional support needs across Scotland. The recent pandemic has brought into focus just how invaluable these roles are within our local communities.

If you're successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration.

If you're shortlisted for this post, you will be invited for interview on Monday 8 March 2021. All interviews will take place online via video chat.
