We are looking for a female* Support Worker to join our small, dedicated team in Coatbridge for 19 hours per week. This is a permanent role based within our Supported Living branch in North Lanarkshire.

The contracted hours will normally be worked between 9.00 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Sunday, although some flexibility will be expected to meet the needs of the person we support; for example, when the world opens up again, you may be required to work some evenings so that the person we support get out to activities in the evening, such as discos, Club LATE and the theatre.

As a Support Worker within our small, dedicated team, you will be supporting a woman with learning disabilities and other complex support needs. She is a very outgoing person, who loves cooking, arts and crafts and sunning herself in the garden. She enjoys spending time with other people, joining in with group activities and planning holidays abroad with her team. She is also very keen to work towards becoming a pet owner. In your role as Support Worker, you will provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, preparing meals, shopping, light household tasks and managing finances. You will assist with all medical needs, including medication and attending appointments, and enable the person we support to lead a fulfilling and valued life.

We are looking for an outgoing, proactive person with a passion to build relationships and positively change the lives of the people we support. So, whilst previous experience would be highly beneficial, it's not essential. What's most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values to make a difference. You'll receive all the training and support you need to provide the highest standard of care through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete your fully funded SVQ qualification.

The person we support has her own mobility vehicle; so, to enable her to make the best use of this, it is essential that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence

If you're successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration.
